In the name of God Amen Anno Din 1558 xxiij [23rd] daie novembris I Thomas Spencer of Cosgrave in the countie of Northampton husbandman being hole of mynd and sicke in body do make this my last will and testament in manner and forme folowinge first I bequeath my sowle unto Allmightie god in whome ys All my trust and to our blessed Lady St mary and to All the holly company of heven ande my body to be Buryede in the church yarde of St Peter in Cosgrave I bequeath to the mother church of peterborough iiijd [4d] Item I Bequeth to my chuncell of my Parishe church ij bushel of barly to bye suche ornament as the quere lacketh I do make my wife and John spence my full executors and my sone John spencer to have half my goodes movable and unmovable I do geve my wife ij [2] kyne and those shepe that I have whensoever I do departe this world and a swarme of bees and every yere a quarter of barly and halfe my pewter and brasse in my house and the best horse and mare in my carte Allso I do geve to Ilsabeth my doughter a Cowe Allso I do geve to the belles of my paryshechurch ij [2] bushel of barley These being witness John dyleston water reings Willm Spencer with other men
