Sir Robert Moorsom 1835

This is the last Will and Testament of me Robert Moorsom Vice Admiral Knight Commander of the Bath whereof I constitute and appoint my Sons Constantine and William joint Executors I give and bequeath all the household Furniture books plate linen china wines horses carriages and other effects which I may have in or about my dwelling house or in my Personal use or occupation at the time of my decease unto my said Son Constantine and as to all my monies stocks funds and securities and all the rest and residue of my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I dispose of the same as follows (that is to say)I give and bequeath unto my said Son Constantine one equal third part or share thereof for his own use I give and bequeath unto my said Son William one other equal third part or share thereof for his own use and the remaining third part or share thereof I give and bequeath unto my said Sons Constantine and William Upon trust to invest the same upon real or Government Securities and to pay the Interest and dividends thereof half yearly as the same shall be received unto my daughter  Maria the Wife of the Reverend Henry Longueville Mansel for her own sole and separate use for and during her life whose receipts shall (not withstanding Coverture) be valid discharges to my said Trustees for such Interest and dividends And upon further Trust after the death of my said daughter to pay the principal monies which shall constitute such remaining one third part or share of the residue of my Estate unto such Person or Persons for such Interests and subject to such Trusts as my said daughter shall (notwithstanding Coverture) by any deed or deeds in writing or by her last Will and Testament in writing to be executed in the presence of two Witnesses direct or appoint give or bequeath the same And I do will and direct that what monies I have advanced to or for the use of my said Sons and daughters respectively in my lifetime shall be taken into account in the division of the resid[ue]? of my Personal Estate and be brought into h.tc..pot it being my intention that (except as to the bequest hereinbefore contained to my said Son Constantine)my Property shall be divided into three equal parts In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the tenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and thirty R. Moorsom Signed Sealed Published and delivered by the said Robert Moorsom the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us George Lucas Henry Smith
In case of the decease of my daughter Maria Margaret Mansel during my life time or without her having by Will or Deed bequeathed the property which I by my Will have left at her disposal I do bequeath the same to continue in trust as by my Will directed during the life time of her Husband Henry Longueville Mansel and the Interest to be paid to him during his life time and at his decease the principal sum to be paid in equal shares to the Children of my said daughter Maria Margaret and I do also empower my Sons Constantine and William the Trustees appointed by my Will for my said daughter Maria Margaret to pay all or any portion of the principal sum bequeathed to them in trust for her during her life time if they shall deem it wright for her benefit to do

Appeared Personally Robert Ward of the Albany Piccadilly in the County of Middlesex Esquire and William Ward of No. 1 Plowdens Buildings Temple London Esquire made oath that they knew and were well acquainted with Sir Robert Moorsom late of Cosgrove in the County of Northampton formerly a Vice Admiral but late an Admiral in his Majestys Navy a Knight Commander of the Bath deceased who died as these deponents have been informed and believe on or about the fourteenth day of April last for ten years and upwards before and to the aforesaid time of his death and also with his manner and character of handwriting and of writing and subscribing his name having often seen the said deceased write and also write and subscribe his name and having now with care and attention viewed and pernoed? the signature “Rt  Moorsom” set and subscribed to the annexed paper Writing the same being or purporting to be a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of the said deceased the said Will bearing date the tenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and thirty the said Will being also hereunto annexed and that the said Codicil beginning thus “In case of the decease of my daughter Maria Margaret Mansel during my life time” and ending thus “dated this ninth day of July 1832” Then those deponents do verily and in their consciences believe the said Writed Signature to the said Codicil to be of the proper handwriting and to have been written by the said Robert Moorsom deceased
Rob Ward Wm Ward On the eighth day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty five the said Robert Ward Esquire and William Ward Esquire were duly sworn to the truth of the within written Affidavit before me W. C. Curteis  Surr Resent W. T. Gosling

Proved at London (with a Codicil) 1st June 1835 before the Worshipful William Calverley Curteis doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oaths of Constantine Richard (in the Will written Constantine) Moorsom and William Moorsom Esquires the Sons the Executors to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn duly to Administer
