In Name of God Amen; the Eleventh day of May in the yeare of Our Lord God One Thousand Six Hundred fforty and Seaven, And in the Three and Twenty Yeare of the reigne of Our Sovereigne Lord Charles by the grace of God [King] of Engalnd Scotland ffrance and Ireland King defender of the ffaith and illeg I Edward Gibbs of Cosgrave in the County of Northampton Miller, being weake and sicke of body but of perfect remembrance praysed bee Allmightie God Doe hereby make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner as followeth ffirst and principally I commend my Soule into the hands of the Allmightly hoping through the precious merits of Our Blessed Saviour redeemer Jesus Christ to have and enioye free pardon and forgivenesse of my Sinnes, And my body I commend to the Earth whereof it was made, And concerning all my Worldley Goods which God of his bountiful goodness hath bestowed upon me, I give bequeath and dispose of in manner as followeth, And first my will intent and meaning is that my sonne John Gibbs his family and desendants shall dwell in the Mills and the old Hall thereunto belonging and shall have use of the Chamber over the new Hall, and alsoe shall have the use of the Milke house with my wife that is in the new house, and shall have the use and benefittes of the Mills with the profits and Commodities thereunto belonging during all the Termes of my Lease and estate in the same Mills and shall have the benefits profits use and Commodities thereof during the same terme In Consideration whereof I Will and my minde and meaning is that my said sonne John Gibbs and his Executors shall yearlie pay all such Rent Taxes dues and ympersicions as shall yearlie ymposed upon the said Mills and appurtenances during the aforesaid Terme of my Leasethat is yet to come, And that my said sonne John Gibbs and his executors shall give and allowe to my wife yearlie during her natural life Three gallons of mill Corne and one gallon of wheate to bee payd her every weeke, The third part of all woode that shalbe yearlie be growing and Cutt upon the or belonging to the said Mills, and alsoe the third part of all the ffishes that shalbe caught at the said Mills, Item that my said sonne John Gibbs shall yealie allowe and give unto my said wife during her natural life the keeping of one Cowe with grass and fodder as he keepeth his owne kyne, and also the keeping of one hogg as he keepth his own hogges
