In the name of God: Amen: The Sixt daie of March in the raignes of our Soveraigne Lord James by the grace of god Kinge of England France and Ireland defender of the faith etc the thirteenth and of Scotland the nyne and fortieth I Elizabeth Foulkes of Cosgrave in the Countie of Northampton widowe beinge waeke of bodie but of good and perfect memorie thankes be to Almightie god for it doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) First I commend my Soule to Almightie god my maker and Redeemer And my bodie to be buried in the parish Church or Churchyard of Cosgrave aforesaide Item I give and bequeath unto George Emerson my grandchilde tenne poundes To be paide unto him within one whole yeare after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto John Emerson  my grandchilde Tenne pounds to be paide in like manner And to Bridget Fisher my grandchilde Seaven pounds to be paide as aforesaid Item I give and bequeath unto Robert Emerson my grandchilde Seaven pounds To be paide within twoe yeares after my decease Item I give unto Thomas Emerson my grandchilde Tenne poundes to be paide at the age of twentie yeares Item I give unto Francis Emerson my grandchilde Tenne poundes to be paide him at the age of eighteene yeares Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Emerson my grandchilde Seaven poundes to be paide at the daie of her marriage Alsoe I give unto her one bedsteed one feather bed one boulster one paire of pillows one coverlett one paire of pillowbeers my biggest brasse pott my kettle foure platters and six porringers One spice morter one lattin Candlestick one cupboard five Cofers the bench wainscott twoe handirons one Spitt and one turned chaire Item I give and bequeath unto John Fisher tenne shillings Unto Thomas Fisher sonne of the saide John Fisher twelve shillinges to be paide at the age of tenne yeares Item I will and bequeath unto Phillipp Emerson the wife of George Emerson Tenn shillinges Item I will and bequeathe unto the poore of Newport Pagnell Thirtie shillinges Alsoe I ordaine that John Marchall and Robert Newman Weaver of the same towne shall have the money delivered to them and they distribute the same at their discretion to the poore sorte of people there Item I bequeath to the poore in Cosgrave Tenne shillinges Item I bequeath to the poore people in Passenham sixe shillinges eight pence Alsoe I give and bequeath Tenne shillings towardes the repaire of a bridge in Cosgrave field called little bridge leading to Stony Stratford which I desire Mr Whaley to see bestowed or someother at his appointment Item I bequeathe to Mr. Riall minister of Passenham Tenn shillinges Item to Arthur Emerson writer of this my Will and Testament five shillinges My funerall expences discharged my debts paide my lagacies and bequests performed the rest of my goodes and chattells unbequeathed I give and bequeathe unto Thomas Emerson my sonne in lawe and to Margarett his wife whom I make and ordaine my executors of this my last will and testament And Mr. Whaley and George Emerson my Overseers and for their paines I give either of them five shillinges In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the daie and yeare first above written Signim Elizabeth Foulkes Testat Sealed and delivered in the presence of John Whaley Arthur Emerson Signim Thomas Stone
