During these years - It was no longer possible to spot where people had moved properties within the year, but house numbers were beginning to appear. These do not correspond with modern numbers, as there were major renumbering exercises to come in the villages as more properties were built.
This was the period during which houses were built in Cosgrove which were Council houses in the modern sense. People wanted to move into these houses because they were the first rented houses to have electricity. Council cottages, rented to tenants by the Parish, still remained.The first Electoral Roll is dated 1833, but only occupiers of property of over £50 were included on the voting list.
In 1886 all male householders were included, but also included some women if they were in business.
It was not until 1919 that women appeared on the electoral rolls in their own right.
