Gabriell Rigby 1687

In the name of god amen This present fourteenth day of September in the third year of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord James the Second by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc Annoq Dom one thousand six hundred eighty seaven I Gabriell Rigby of Cosgrave in the County of Northampton gent being sicke and weake in body but of good sound and perfect mind and memory praise be God for the same doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following vizt First I commend my Soule into the hands of Allmighty God my Creator hopeing to be Saved by the meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my Redeemer Secondly I give my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named And for the worldly Estate the Lord in mercy have lent me I give and devise the same as followeth Imprimis I give and devise all those my lands pastures and Meadows grounds together with all the Rents and profitts and issues belonging to the said Lands which said Lands Meadows and pasture grounds are lying and being within the bounds precincts and Territoryes of Potterspury and Cosgrave aforesaid which lands I purchased of One Esqr Grinfeild and one Thomas Nicholes unto my loveing brother Henry Rigby for and dureing the tearme of his naturall life and from and after the decease of my said brother Henry then I give and devise all those my said Lands Meadows and pastures grounds together with theire and every of theire appurtenances thereunto belonging unto my loveing brother Christopher Rigby his Heyres and Assigns for ever  Item I give and bequeath unto my loving Sister Anne Tite widdowe the summe of twenty pounds of good and lawfull money of England Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing Neece Ann Brafeild the summe of thirty pounds of lawfull English money Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing Neece Mary Waterman the summe of thirty pounds of like English money Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing Sister Rigby the wife of my brother Christopher the sum of five pounds of lawfull English money Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing Nephew and Godson George Tyte the Summe of tenn pounds of lawfull English money Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing Nephew Christopher Rigby the summe of five pounds of like English money Item I give and bequeath unto my loveing Neese and goddaughter Mary Rigby the summe of tenn pounds of like lawfull English money Item I give and bequeath unto my three Neeses Sisters to the Said Mary Rigby the summe of five pounds of like lawfull English money Item I give and bequeath unto my Brother Christophers servants now in being the Summe of tenn shillings apeece Item I give unto the poore people of Cosgrave the Summe of five pounds Item all the rest of my goods and chattells not herein bequeath I do give and bequeath unto my loveing brother Christopher Rigby and doe make him the Said Christopher Rigby my Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament upon this Condition that the said Christopher shall pay all my Debts Legacies and funerall expences and I do hereby revoke and renounce all former and other Wills by me heretofore made and declare this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Gabriell Rigby have here unto Sett my hand and Seale the day and year first above written

Memorandum before the encealing and the declareing of this my last Will and Testament my Will and meaning is that my acre and half of Meadow grounds lying in Cosgrave feilds shall be laid unto my brother Henry Rigby house for ever Gabriell Rigby Subscribed Sealed declared and delivered in the presence of us Jno Core Ann Harbert Bee Stephens
