William Porter 1719

In the Name of God Amen I William Porter of Old Stratford in the Parish of Cosgrave in the County of Northampton Lace buyer well in body and of sound and perfect Mind and Memory praised be Almighty God for the same do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in Writing in manner and forme following First and principally  I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping through the Meritorious Death and passion of Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour to receive free pardon and remission of all my sins And as for my Body I commit the same to the Earth from whence it came to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named And as for that Worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I give and devise unto my Grandson Augustin Seaton and his heirs and assigns for ever All my Lands Tenements and Hereditaments what soever Scituate Standing lyeing or  being in the Parish of Cosgrave Furtho and Potterspury or any or either of them and which are now in the tenure or occupation of John Bignell his Assignee or Assignes Tenant or under Tenants Charged and Chargable Nevertheless with the payment of the sume of Five pounds apiece to my three Grandchildren William Seaton Porter Seaton and Elizabeth Seaton within Twelve Months after my decease and with the payment of the sume of Five pounds apiece to my Great Grandchildren Augustin Seaton and Ruth Seaton at their several and respective Ages of One and Twenty years and Charged and Chargable also with the payment of the sume of three pounds and Ten Shillings a yeare to my Daughter Ann Seaton for and during the Terme of her natural Life the same to be paid without and deduction or abatement of or for any manner of Taxes or other payments whatsoever and to be paid Quarterly (that is to say) at the Feast of St Michael th’ Archangel the Feast of St Thomas the Apostle the Feast of the Annunciation of the blessed Virgin Mary and the Feast of St John the Baptist the First payment thereof to begin and be made on such of the said Feasts as shall next happen after my decease And in Case the said Yearly Rent or Summe of three pounds and Ten Shillings or any part there of be behind or unpaid by the Space of twenty dayes next after either or any of the said Feasts or dayes of payment on which the same ought to be paid That then and in every such Case it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said Ann Seaton and her Assignes into All and Singular the said Premisses  or any part thereof to enter and to receive and take All the Rents Issues and Profitts thereof until the said yearly Rent or Summe of three pounds and Ten Shillings and all arreares thereof be lawfully satisfied and paid Together with all Costs Damages and Expences suffored and sustained by reason of non-payment thereof Item I give and devise the Bed which I usually lye on with the Furniture thereto belonging to my Grand daughter Elizabeth Seaton Item I give to my son in Law Daniel Seaton and to his son John Seaton One Shilling apiece Item I give and devise all the rest and residue of my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Grand son Augustin Seaton Whom I make full and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all former and other Wills by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this Thirtieth day of July in the Fifth year of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord George by the Grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. Annoq Domi 1719 (the mark of William Porter) Signed Sealed published and declared to be the last Will and Testament  of the said William Porter and attested by us in the presence of the Testator John Haddam Robert Day Bishop Pritchett
