Abraham Marriott 1836

I Abraham Marriott of Cosgrove in the County of Northampton hereby bequeathed to my Wife Elizabeth my Furniture and all other articles in my personal use as if or occupation and I hereby further bequeath all money securities for money debts and all other my worldly estate to my master John Christopher Mansel of Cosgrove aforesaid on trust to pay therewith funeral and testamentary expenses and my just debts and after such payment further trust to invest or lay out the surplus in such way as he shall think most advantageous on personal always real securities and to change the same from time to time according to his discretion and to pay the interest or annual proceeds of surplus to my said wife during her life for her sole and separate use and so as shall not dispose of them by anticipation her receipts in writing whether sale or convert to be a sufficient discharge for each and every payment to her and after each of my said wife on further trust to apply the said interest on annual proceeds in such where he as the said John Christopher Mansel shall think best for the benefit of my daughter Harriett during her minority and when my said daughter shall attain the age of twenty one to transfer to her for her sole Use and benefit all my estate to slow left in trust as aforesaid the receipts of my said daughter where the sole or covert to be a sufficient discharge for each and every payment that may be made to her whether of interest or of principal and I appoint the said John Christopher Mansel executor of this my last will and testament Cosgrove this twenty sixth day of September one thousand eight hundred and thirty three Abraham Marriott the above was red over to the said to Abraham Marriott on the 26th day of September 1830 three attested by him to be according to his intention and signed by him in the presence of John C Mansel Cosgrove Northamptonshire illeg Middle Temple London

Appeared Personally Frances Gibbs of Cosgrove in the county of Northampton Butler to John Christopher Mansell Esq.  and made Oath that he knew and was well acquainted with Abraham Marriott late of Cosgrove in the county of Northampton servant to John Christopher Mansell Esq. Deceased who died on V ninth day of January last for twenty  years and upwards before and to the aforesaid time of his death and also with his manner and character of handwriting and of writing and subscribing his name having often seen the said deceased write and also write and subscribe his name and having now with care and attention viewed the signature Abraham Marriott set and subscribed to the annexed paper writing the same being or purporting to be and contain the last will and testament of the said deceased the said to build beginning thus” I. Abraham Marriott of Cosgrove in the county of Northampton” ending thus “Cosgrove this twenty sixth day of September one thousand eight hundred and thirty three” and verse subscribed “Abraham Marriott” he this deponent did verily and in his conscience believe the said related subscription to the said will to be of the proper hands and of writing and subscribing of the said Abraham Marriott deceased Francis Gibbs )n the 15th day of Feb 1836 the said Francis Gibbs of Cosgrove was duly sworn to the truth of the within written Affidavit in virtue of the annexed Conson before me John Graham Commissioner
